General Info

Welcome to the Lombard Park District’s Summer Day Camps!

The Lombard Park District is proud to offer a variety of high-quality camps for all ages and interests.
All camps are supervised by a creative camp staff. Your child will enjoy a variety of activities including sports, games, arts & crafts, cookouts, swimming/water play, field trips, special events, and much, much more!!!

We offer both Full and Partial Day Camps:

  • Partial Day: 9:00 am-1:00 pm
    {Adventure Camp, Kool Kamp, & Lil Rascals}
  • Full Day: 9:00 am-3:30 pm
    {Kamp Kritters & Teen Camp}

In order to keep you informed, you will receive:

  • Weekly Camp Schedules
  • Field Trip Permission Slips
  • Other Important Information as necessary

What to bring to camp everyday:

Water Bottle: (stay hydrated!) Please provide a labeled, non-disposable bottle. On hot days, we recommend freezing the bottle overnight.
Lunch: Please provide a well-balanced lunch that will allow your child to maintain an active day.
Spray Sunscreen: We recommend that you provide spray sunscreen, as our staff can only assist your child with this type of sunscreen.
Tennis Shoes: This ensures safety and comfort as we will be playing many active and outdoor games. Sandals are acceptable on pool days only.
Towel: Weather permitting, lunch is eaten outside. A towel is used for our picnic style lunches.
Snack: If your child is attending Before/After Camp Care.
Comfortable Clothing: Please dress for the weather and to participate in active games. Avoid dark and heavy clothing for hot days. Hats are allowed.
Backpack: Please label all belongings and store them in their backpack!

Partial Day Camps

Lil Rascals

Lil Rascals is divided into 2 smaller camps, which is determined by age.
Cubs: ages 3-4 | Bears: K-1st Grade
*Please register your child accordingly.

Children will create arts & crafts, sing songs, enjoy stories, experience nature activities, water fun, and more at camp! Campers should bring lunch and a drink every day. Children must be able to use the toilet independently and must be the appropriate age/grade by start date – no exceptions.

Kool Kamp

Kool Kamp is for children entering 2nd-3rd grade of 1st graders turning 7 by December 31st, 2011.
Children will enjoy indoor and outdoor games, water play, arts & crafts, songs, nature activities, and reading time. Campers should bring a lunch and drink every day.

Campers must be age/grade appropriate by the first day of camp – no exceptions.

Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp is for children age 8-11.
Don’t want to commit to an all-day camp? Then try Adventure Camp and enjoy the outdoors! Campers will fish, hike, play sports, and enjoy nature activities. Campers should bring a lunch, snack, and drink every day.

Full Day Camp

Kamp Kritters

Kamp Kritters participants, ages 6-11, will experience a range of activities from arts & crafts, sports, contests, walking trips, field trips, themed activities, and more!

Kamp Kritters is divided into two smaller camps, which is determined by age.
Junior Kritters: ages 6-8 | Senior Kritters: ages 9-11
*All Kritters participants will experience both small group as well as all camp activities during the day.

Camp Schedules

Weekly schedules will be distributed every Thursday by the conclusion of the regular camp day. Please take a look at the schedules carefully, as they are your guide to camp. {Schedules will tell you what to bring: ie: swimsuit, towel, money for an activity like pizza/ice cream, etc.}

Monthly schedules will be distributed approximately one week prior to the end of the month. Additional information will be provided regarding walking trips, field trips, special activities, etc. Most activities and field trip expenses are included in the registration fee. Field trip fees are not included in the three day or five day options and do require additional registration.

Teen Camp/Trips

Teen Camp & Trips

Calling all middle school teens! If you are looking for fun in the sun, Summer Teen Club is for you! Teen Club has taken daily trips to such places as Paradise Bay Water Park, ice skating rinks, pizza parlors, Chicago’s beaches, Navy Pier, and mini golf courses to name a few.

When we are not out taking in all the fun and sun, we can relax and enjoy ourselves by playing billiards, watching movies, learning new art projects, or simply kicking back and enjoying some free time playing Wii & X-Box in the Teen Room at the Lombard Community Building.

Teen Club participants will enjoy:

  • Visiting Paradise Bay Water twice a week
  • Going on a local trop by van/train every other Friday
  • Ping Pong, Billiards, access to computers, board games, etc.
  • Various outdoor activities

Summer Teen Trips

Entering Grades 6-10

Enjoy an exciting summer trip with your friends and the Teen Club staff! Trips are open to all area teenagers. *Villa Park residents must register at the Iowa Community Center, while Lombard and out-of district residents must register at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Participants are asked to bring a lunch or money for food, snack or shopping.

The Lombard Park District is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings, ie: iPods, cell phones, etc.

Register at least 2 weeks in advance, as space is limited. The bus will board at the Lombard Community Building. In case of bad weather, trips will be cancelled.

CIT’s

Become a CIT!

As a Counselor in Training (CIT), you’ll strengthen your leadership and communication skills, work with young children, and have an enjoyable and educational summer experience! Energy, patience and a cooperative attitude is crucial since you will be a part of enriching the lives of every child who attends summer camp! Learn leadership skills, teamwork, problem solving skills, safety, responsibility, & practice.

You may only sign up for one session per summer.
Note: Fridays are optional and all CITs will be given information on Friday activities.

Kamp Kare

Kamp Kare

The Park District’s extended service is available for children enrolled in Kamp Kritters. If enrolling in partial camp, the daily rate per morning or evening is $8 per time attended. No Camp Care on 7/4.

Camp Participants can choose to enroll in Before Care and/or After Care.
Before Care : 7:00 am-9:00 am
After Care: 3:30 pm-6:00 pm
Camp Care fees must be paid prior to attending Camp Care.

  • Please provide additional snacks for your child
  • Inform your child of transportation arrangements.
  • We will only release your child to those noted on the information sheet for both Camp and Camp Care. Please be sure information is accurate throughout the summer.
