Battery Recycling Drive!

Battery Recycling Drive!

July 8, 2011 – Don’t throw away those old batteries! Did you know that batteries contain dangerous heavy metals that can contaminate our air and leach into the soil from landfills? It is extremely important for the safety of ourselves and our environment that batteries are properly recycled upon disposal.

This is why the Lombard Park District and Batteries Plus in Glen Ellyn are working together to promote these kind of environmentally friendly practices within the community! Drop off your old and used batteries at the tent outside Paradise Bay Water Park on Wednesday, July 20th between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. ALL kinds of batteries will be accepted and properly recycled by representatives from Batteries Plus. This includes: alkaline batteries, lithium batteries, car batteries, cell phone batteries and much more!

Help us to protect the environment and keep toxins out of our landfills! For more information about the Battery Recycling Drive, please contact us or call the Lombard Park District at (630) 620-7322. You may also call Batteries Plus in Glen Ellyn at (630) 790-8100 or visit See you there!
