Golf Professional

Provide quality instruction to all levels of golfers, keep the standards of Lombard Park District and keep a positive presence while working at the Western Acres Golf Course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but NOT LIMITED to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Teach clinics at the Park District Western Acres Golf Course.
• Teach private lessons.
• Assist in the development of golf programs.
• Work with Western Acres Golf Course Club House Supervisor to maintain the quality of the hitting areas for all patrons and keep practice areas clean and organized.
Experience: Required PGA member in good standing with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience at a public golf course preferred.

Western Acres Golf Course Cashier

Hours: 16 to 24 per week, mornings/afternoon-evenings shifts available, flexible schedule including weekends.

Wage: $9.25 per hour

Under the direct supervision of the Club House Supervisor, the cashier will be responsible for the am or pm shift. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. One or more years of experience as cashier, sales person, or pro shop attendant is desirable. Computer knowledge is required and must be customer service oriented.

Duties: Collects daily greens fees from patron; cooks and serves snack bar and concessions products and beverages, including alcoholic beverages for purchase by patrons, maintains the cleanliness of the Clubhouse, wiping counters, tables and chairs, cleaning snack bar, concession and beverage equipment. Stocks the Clubhouse snack bar and concession merchandise as needed, closes out the cash register at the end of the shift and completes appropriate deposit paperwork. Answers the telephone and provides requested information to patrons regarding the golf course.

Paradise Bay Job Openings

 

Manager

The Paradise Bay Water Park Manager oversees the operation of the outdoor swimming pool facility. This is a public pool with both members and daily visitors. The candidate will perform a variety of duties in planning, scheduling, and maintaining the seasonal operation of the pool, communicating with the Aquatic Facility Manager and members, and above all, have enthusiasm for making the pool a safe and enjoyable place for the community. Related experience and basic understanding in aquatic programs desirable and preferred. Certification as a Starfish Aquatics Lifeguard Instructor, certification as CPR & First Aid Instructor.

Must be 21 years old or older.

Hours: Varies; daily 6 AM- close

Wage: $ 9.50 per hour

Lifeguard

The Paradise Bay Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of the facility. Must be at least 16 years old. Previous lifeguarding experience is preferred, but not required. Certification will be provided. Work under the direction and supervision of the Lifeguard-in-Charge, the Pool Manager, and the Aquatic/Facility Manager.

Hours: Vary daily 6 am – Close

Wage: $ 8.75

Guest Service

The Paradise Guest Service is responsible for keeping the facility clean, including pool deck and locker rooms. Must be at least 16 years old. Work under the supervision of the Pool Manager and the Aquatic Facility Manager.

Hours: Vary daily 11 am – close

Wage: $ 8.50 per hour

Swim Instructor

The Swim Instructor must have experience working with children in/or out of aquatic environments is preferred, but not necessary. Must be at least 16 years old. Must be willing to work with children ages 1-15. CPR/First Aid training preferred or will train. Must be available Monday – Friday mornings and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings from June to August. Work under the supervision and direction from the Swim Lessons Manager.

Wage: $8.75 per hour

Concessions

The Paradise Bay Concessions employee is responsible to clean the entire concessions area. Prepare and sell food menu items. Provide professional and courteous service to the public. Must be at least 16 year old or older, previous or similar experience is desired but not required. Works under the direct supervision of the Concessions Manager.

Hours: Vary daily 11 am to close

Wage: $ 8.50 per hour

Maintenance

The Paradise Bay Maintenance employee will perform daily, weekly and monthly routine pool maintenance; which includes the filter room operations, chemical safety and handling. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance repairs throughout the facility. Must be able to follow directions from the Pool Manager and Aquatic/Facility Manager. Must be 21 years or older.

 

Hours: Vary daily 11 am to close

Assistant Swim Team Coach

The Paradise Bay seasonal Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach in offering an atmosphere of learning, fun and competition for youth swimmers. Work in cooperation with the Head Swim Coach in the areas of planning, implementing practices and running swim meets. CPR/First Aid training preferred or will train. Must be at least 16 year old or older.

PT Fitness Instructor

  • The part time Fitness Instructor is responsible for teaching a safe, fun and rewarding exercise class.
  • Must hold a current fitness certification.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred. (All methods).
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License and be able to provide own transportation.
  • Must be available day and evenings
  • Salary $21 – $30

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily lesson plans
  • Prepare communications for the participants
  • Responsible for purchasing and inventory of supplies
  • Attend required staff training and meetings.
